Aloha, I am sorry to report that after a number of weeks of poor attendance, it has been decided by those members who regularly supported the club that it no longer seems reasonable to continue. Either the club was not living up to members expectations or there just isn't enough interest Therefore all future meetings have been cancelled. I want to thank those that did support the club. Last Meeting
Aloha. Well there were only three of us present at the last meeting. Wonder where all you ukulele lovers have gone. Superbowl is over so it can't be that. In any event, we have revised the song list into beginner and advanced catagories. I think that will help with the first hour of the meeting limited to the beginner list. Please look for the revised list in the near future. Our next meeting will be on February 24th. Hope to see more participants on that date. Mahalo. Rob

Our January 27th Meeting
Aloha, we had a nice turnout for the preliminary clawhammer uke workshop. I hope all of you will work on it. At the next meeting on February 10th, I would like to tackle "Eight More Miles to Louisville" clawhammer style. We will also review the songlist to cull those songs not necessary, so look at your list and be prepared to give me your thoughts. Hope to see you then. Mahalo. Rob

Our Last Meeting
Aloha, Paul reports that we had five attendees at the last meeting and a good time was had by all. But where are all you uke players that have come once or twice? I will be teaching clawhammer uke at the next meeting on January 27th. A ukulele with a high G is preferred but not critical. We will learn to play "Eight More Miles to Louisville" in that style. I think you will all enjoy the challenge. See you then. Mahalo Rob

Uke Club Meeting Held December 23rd
Aloha, well once again family duties prevented me from attending the last meeting, but I understand there was a fair turnout and a good time had by those in attendence. The next meeting will be held on January 13th. Unfortunately I will once again be out of town, but I swear I will be at the January 27th meeting and will give the clawhammer workshop. Don't miss it. Also to let you know, the Northern California Ukulele Festival held in Hayward is a one day event held on April 7, 2013. Check out their website at www.ukulelefestivalnorcal.org. Also, the Reno Ukulele Festival will be held from April 18th to 21st and has been expanded by one day. It is also being held in conjunction with an Acoustic Instrument Festival for all string players. Sounds like a great event. Love to see all of you there. Mahalo. Rob

Next Meeting
Aloha, hope you had a good meeting on the 11th. As you know, I was attending the South Lake Tahoe Ukulele Retreat. It was a great weekend featuring some excellent workshops and seminars given by Sara Maisel, Jim DeVille and Aaron Keim. There were folks from as far away as New Jersey and Tennessee who attended along with an older lady that spent 3 days on a train from Iowa. That is dedication. Our next meeting will be December 9th. I will give a workshop that day on Clawhammer Ukulele. It will really add to your enjoyment of the uke. At later meetings, I will give a workshop on moveable chords and jazzy blues, so don't miss any of the meetings. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mahalo Rob
